Queen Victoria Market Food Tour
Melbourne is home to the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest open-air market and it’s a true treat for all senses. After haggling a bargain and exploring the wonder of Queen Victoria Market’s stalls we will spend the afternoon in the most Melbourne way possible, eating and drinking!
Melbourne has more food establishments than anywhere in the world so we thought the best way to showcase that was to create an exclusive food tour just for you, so we did. Prepare for lots of yummy snacks and tasters.
Wednesday and Thursday
Mornington Peninsula and Phillip Island
Now it's time to get out of Melbourne to explore more of the beautiful state of Victoria. Over two days we’ll visit the stunning Mornington Peninsula and Phillip Island, two of the most beautiful and untouched spots in Australia.
You’ll tick off those bucket list items as you see stunning pristine beaches, feed Kangaroos, hang with Koalas, learn to surf, clap eyes on 500 tiny Penguins and even indulge in the finest wine Australia has to offer. Think of why you came to Australia and so much of it is on these two days. Not only does it already sound amazing, this tour doesn't actually exist and has been specially created for you. There's no better way to experience all of these things than with your Welcome to Travel family. (L)
(In winter surfing may be replaced by kayaking/mountain biking (this is weather dependent and at the discretion of the tour guide)
Melbourne has many celebrated suburbs and St Kilda is as famous as they get. We’ll take the morning to stroll this quaint beach suburb taking in its iconic promenade, alfresco cafes and famous landmarks such as Luna Park, Acland St and the Palais Theatre. The afternoon can be spent lazing on the beach, paddle boarding or if you’re feeling adventurous, In winter St Kilda beach day will be replaced with a visit to the Aquarium and a beautiful river cruise before viewing Melbourne from up high at the incredible Eureka Skydeck.
Saturday morning is your time to chill out and explore Melbourne. We recommend you take us up on all our local tips on how to spend the morning, brunch spots being our specialty!
The advice in the morning will be followed by advice in the afternoon as we talk about where after Melbourne? We have backpacked Australia so know all the hot spots and we'll be able to help you plan your adventure. As we wrap that up, we’ll crack open the beers before the big Saturday night bar crawl! (D)
And as if like that, it’s nearly over. We're not silly and one thing we're experienced with is the morning after a big night. With that in mind, we’ll have a lazy start before wrapping up any ‘Where next?’ questions from the previous day and make sure everyone is ready for the rest of their Australian adventure.
Melbourne is celebrated for rooftop/laneway bars and after a farewell meal, we’d love to give you a fitting send off by taking you to a few of our personal favorites that no regular tourist would ever usually find. (D)
