1 Day Penguin Parade and Koala Highlights Itinerary - 1 days
One of the favorite Melbourne day tours spectacles is the Phillip Island Penguin Parade. Get yourself ready and join us in our Phillip Island Tour Penguin Parade and Koala Highlights.
Before you meet the magical stars of the day we start our Phillip Island tour by meeting some of your Australian furry favorites — the koalas and the kangaroos! We will visit the Wildlife Park and see Australian wildlife up close. Hand feed the kangaroos and get a closer look at the ever cuddly koalas.
Do you know why koalas do not pass as bears? It is because they do not have enough koalafications. Having large heads and fluffy ears, these lazy little buddies live a sedentary lifestyle in their native land of Australia. Koalas munch on eucalyptus leaves and sleep up to 20 hours a day.
The highlights of this Phillip Island tour include the following: sunset at the penguin parade, getting up close with the koalas, hand feeding kangaroos and wallabies, interactive virtual experience at the WWF Antarctic Journey, a visit to seal rocks and the Nobbies, coastal beach walks and chocolate samples, and Penguin Parade’s award-winning Visitor Center.
We will drive along a 140-kilometer stretch from Melbourne to Phillip Island, a 10,000-hectare home to more than a hundred varieties of animal species. At the Wildlife Park, you will have the chance to take some amazing photos with your favorite koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, and different types of birds. You can also spot the foxes (bats) in their natural habitat. The island is southern Australia’s largest colony of flying foxes.
At the Phillip Island Nature Parks, the beautiful scenery of sandy beaches, rugged cliffs, and exotic wildlife is simply eye catching. Phillip Island serves as a colony of and home to over 32,000 Little Penguins. On this Phillip Island tour, we watch the magical sunset spectacle at the Phillip Island. Remember, it’s all about the penguins!
Marvel at the giant surf of Woolamai Beach and take a walk at the beach. We strut down the boardwalk to see the rocky coast and spot the fur seals.
Then we will head to the new marine center at the Nobbies. Immerse yourself in an exclusive Autopia Tours offering of experiencing a world-first interactive of the Antarctic at Phillip Island’s Nobbies Centre. Take a virtual journey to the Southern Ocean and Antarctica and experience the fun and excitement. We promote wildlife awareness so we pave the way to protect and preserve our natural environment for future generations.
We will also have some chocolate tastings at Panny’s Chocolate Shop. Enjoy the Phillip Island sunset at the Visitor Information Center and choose the right seat to have a great view of the main spectacles of the day — the Penguin Parade!
The main attraction of Phillip Island tour has always been the Little Penguins doing their daily ritual of penguin parade. These little friends are the smallest of its kind in the world. They’re also called “fairy penguins.”
Measuring about 41 centimeters tall, the Little Penguins weighed just 1 kilogram making them the smallest penguin species in the world. They have established colonies in the coastlines of Australia and New Zealand. You can also spot them in Tasmania and the Chatham Islands.
These penguins are also called Blue Penguins due to the color of their plumage — indigo-blue and a white stripe from chin to the belly. Living in large colonies, the Little Penguins made Phillip Island as one of their territories.
At the Phillip Island tour, witness the little fairies appear magically from the surf to magically appear out of the surf to walk back to their homes. Crossing the Summerland Beach they travel in small groups back to their burrows. And it happens every day at sunset. Right after the day’s hard work of fishing in the seas of Phillip Island to bring food to their little ones left at home in the dunes.
The penguin parade spectacle is one of the most popular Melbourne day tours destination. We provide you a highly entertaining and informative tour guide.
So, get your cameras ready. Bring with you your passion and sense of adventure. Prepare for an exciting adventure and enjoy the fun!
