All about the 1 Day Cradle Mountain Tour

Cradle Mountain National Park is an area of world-famous scenery with a huge variety of walking trails to choose from. With around 5 hours of time to spend in the National Park, we leave our walking itinerary flexible to suit our guests and the weather conditions on the day.

Lunch is not included on the day tour to Cradle Mountain but there are plenty of spots to stop off and buy something. We support our local communities in Tasmania and buying food from local producers is really important to us or you bring your own lunch.

Pick up in the morning around 7am from Launceston, let us know your hotel and we will let you know the closest pickup point. Then you head out to the Cradle Mountain National Park for a day of exploring. Returning to Launceston around 7.30 pm. 

Cradle Mountain is located in the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park. It is classed as one of Australis best National Parks

Tour itinerary - 1 Days

  • Day 1 Cradle Mountain
    Experience ancient rainforests, alpine heaths, glacial lakes, rugged mountains and some of Tasmania’s iconic wildlife. With around 5 hours of time to spend in the National Park the walking itinerary is flexible to suit you and the weather conditions on the day.

    After departing Launceston enjoy a short stop in Sheffield – The Town of Murals. Sheffield is a small and quirky village where the history of the Cradle Mountain region is depicted in artworks across the buildings throughout the town.

    Continue your journey into the mountains and arrive at Cradle Mountain and Dove Lake with around 5 hours of possible walking time. Your guides will carefully assist to ensure everyone has an opportunity to enjoy short, easy or longer walks that best suit them and the day ahead. Choose from the gentle and iconic Dove Lake Circuit or climb to loftier peaks to view the vastness of the surrounding World Heritage Area from Marion’s Lookout. Enjoy lunch by a quiet stream, watch the famous and friendly Cradle wombats in their natural habitat, or enjoy the many photographic opportunities that abound.

    Cradle Mountain is the backdrop for a truly memorable and not to be missed Tasmanian experience.

    When you return to Launceston, time permitting, a stop will be made to sample some local boutique products at Ashgrove Cheese and Seven Sheds Brewery.

    Return to Launceston around 7.00pm after a huge yet unforgettable Cradle Mountain day.
