This tour starts in Cairns and you drive out to the Tablelands through rainforest, wetland, and Savannah. Spot native wildlife as you wind in and out of hills and forest.
The Waterfalls are abundant is the Atherton Tablelands, so you will spend much of the first day exploring and swimming. Stay in the remote tropical town of Yungaburra, where time stands still and you can relax.

Cairns to Yungaburra
Our journey starts in Cairns where you will be picked up to start our adventure to the Atherton Tablelands.
This popular nature tour takes us to the highlights of the cool tropical Atherton Tablelands. The day begins with a visit to the Curtain Fig Tree and continues with guided rainforest walks in search of native wildlife at both the Cathedral Fig Tree and the volcanic crater Lake Barrine, before lunch.
Travel through the picturesque countryside, swimming at several pristine waterfalls such as the famous Millaa Millaa, plus a jungle trek to view the raging Dinner Falls and World Heritage listed Mount Hypipamee National Park.
Take an evening stroll around the heritage village of Yungaburra, and stop at the specially constructed viewing platform for some platypus spotting before your delicious BBQ Dinner (L, D).
Yungaburra to Cairns
After breakfast we start with a guided mountain bike ride through the lush, green Atherton Tablelands countryside and rainforest. We stop and have a swim to cool off at the volcanic crater, Lake Eacham (lunch can be purchased here at own expense). In the afternoon we will explore an untouched and secluded area of Lake Tinaroo from the safety of our two person canoes. Our guide will help you spot rare wildlife such as tree kangaroos, possums, birds and water dragons.
Then have your face painted with Aboriginal ochre clay before hot showers, tea and coffee at the Wallaby Lodge before we head back to Cairns (B).
