1 Day Atherton Tablelands Waterfalls Tour Itinerary - 1 days
Wake up nice and early to be picked up from your Cairns accommodation for your adventure to the stunning Atherton Tablelands. This popular nature tour will take you up the spectacular Gillies Range to the highlights of the cool tropical Atherton Tablelands.
The day begins with a visit to the Curtain Fig Tree and continues with guided rainforest walks in search of native wildlife at both the Cathedral Fig Tree and the volcanic crater, Lake Barrine, before lunch. Keep an eye out for rare animals, such as the elusive Tree Kangaroo, platypuses and bird species.
Travel through some of these natural wonders for the day’s highlights. You will visit several pristine waterfalls, such as the famous Millaa Millaa falls, perfect for swimming.
Trek through the jungle to the World Heritage listed Mount Hypipamee National Park. It is home to lots of species of Possums, and some incredible waterfalls, including the raging Dinner Falls. Then sit in a volcanic crater, an awe inspiring feature of this park.
The last stop of the day is at On the Wallaby Lodge in the small township of Yungaburra for tea & coffee to round off your day, before you head back to Cairns arriving at approximately 7:00pm. (L)
