6 Day Alice Springs To Adelaide Rock To Water Tour Itinerary - 6 days

  • Day 1 Alice Springs to Uluru
    Start your tour in, Alice Springs, with a pick up from your hostel or hotel accommodation. You will then journey across the rugged Outback to Uluru. Nothing will prepare you for the sight of The Rock – it’s awesome! You will learn about the region’s indigenous history at the Uluru Kata Tjuta Aboriginal Cultural Centre before taking an easy walk around the base of Uluru and learn more about Aboriginal interpretations from your Culturally Accredited Tour Guide. There’s no better way to finish the day than watching the amazing sunset over Uluru, before snuggling inside your swag under the star-studded desert sky. (LD)
  • Day 2 Kata Tjuta
    After an early breakfast, we’ll head to Kata Tjuta for a sumptuous sunrise and visit the majestic Valley of the Winds, with its ancient rock formations and extraordinary views. The hikes here can be challenging at times with steep sections and duration of about 3 ½ hours. We relax back at our campground, take a dip in the swimming pool or join one of our adrenalin Plus options. (BLD)
  • Day 3 Kings Canyon
    Today we set out for Watarrka National Park (Kings Canyon), you’ll need to stop to admire and photograph the massive sandstone walls, vast canyon floor and breath-taking gorges. On the Canyon Rim Walk (3-4 hours) experience the beautiful Garden of Eden and learn more about local Aboriginal culture. (BLD)
  • Day 4 Uluru to Coober Pedy
    Then you start to travel south towards South Australia visiting Coober Pedy – the Opal Capital of the World – you’ll notice the incredible change of scenery. We’ll get the chance to visit the Opal Mine and Museum where you’ll learn the history of the town. The highlight for some is visiting Josephine’s Kangaroo Orphanage, where you can meet the rescued kangaroos and baby joeys and admire (or buy) Aboriginal art and didgeridoos. Soon after you’ll get the chance to taste one of the most amazing pizzas in the outback before spending the night in a bunkhouse sleeping the way the locals do – underground! (BLD)
  • Day 5 Coober Pedy to Wilmington
    After breakfast, we journey south into the foothills of the magnificent Flinders Ranges. On the way, we stop to view the salt lakes. We’ll stop en route for lunch before driving to Wilmington where we’ll sleep among the red gum trees. (BLD)
  • Day 6 Wilmington to Adelaide
    Start the day with a hike up Dutchman’s Stern for grand views of the ocean and surrounding ranges and plains. In the afternoon enjoy a refreshing stop at a winery in the Clare Valley before arriving in Adelaide at around 6 pm. (BL)

Things you need to know about this tour
  • Camping/dorm customers will spend 1 night in a dorm and 4 nights camping in swags only. Camping/twin/double/single customers will spend 1 night in a private room with private facilities, 1 night in a cabin with shared facilities, 2 nights camping in swags and dome tents and 1 night in a permanent safari tent (shared facilities)
  • Twin/double fare can only be booked by two people traveling together.
  • Sleeping bags are included for twin/double/single customers. Dorm customers will be required to pay a $30 fee to their guide in Alice Springs. Passengers are permitted to bring their own sleeping bags. Please specify this at time of booking.
  • You can start the Rock to Water Tour from Alice Springs or Ayers Rock Campground Reception. The pickup time will be 12.30 (after lunch) at Ayers Rock Public Campground Reception. If you start after this time you will miss some tour inclusions. If taking the Ayers Rock pick up as a location please advise arrival details and have a mobile phone.
